Kickstart your summer tunes playlist with will hyde’s debut EP ‘with u in mind.’. You can squeeze a lot of talent into six songs, the solo pop artist proves. Rich with strong expressive lyrics, beautiful melodic vocals and lively beats, you'll certainly be winding the car windows down and turning the stereo up to this one.

We’ll dive into reviewing the EP with our favourite track “dark until september.”, a soft acoustic number with echoic backing vocals that boost hyde’s lyrical intensity. 

“This song came from a dark period in my life when I was very lost & out of love for the world, for the people around me & for myself. It’s me looking in the mirror for the first time to face a lot of the things i’d been denying”

Our second fave, “easy for u.” epitomises will’s music style. It’s a catchy bop with a cruisy beat, what more can you ask for? 

We see some softer vocals and funky bass lines in the verses of the track “meant to be.”. The chorus of this one is bound to be stuck in your head for days (and you won't be mad about it). 

Hyde lets his guard down and gets vulnerable in the song “misfit.”. Most of us feel it, few of us talk about it. “I’m a misfit...it’s just part of who I am”; this number is the new anthem for anyone who has felt like an outcast.  

“over u.” will have you living your own summer teen rom-com movie. “I was feeling like, you're [ex-partner] driving me insane. I’m driving myself insane. I’ve gotta make a change and stop thinking about these relationships in my life," hyde said of his inspiration for the song. 

The struggles of love continue on “too close to love”. This one has soft acoustic verses that contrast perfectly with the electro-pop drops of the chorus.  

You’ll be keeping will hyde in mind after checking out this EP; he’s certainly left us wanting more.
