Forget (About Everything Else) but James Hersey
The new single ‘Forget (About Everything Else)’ from Austrian streaming sensation James Hersey has just been released, and you’ll be sure to forget about everything else whilst listening. James’ international career launched off the back of his performance “Coming Over”, and since then has been one to watch in the Pop scene.
Diving head first into a trap-inspired subgenre of hip-hop, Hersey’s song is characterised by atmospheric synths, tuned kick drums and a melodic pattern to highlight his vocals.
James Hersey is no stranger to success, with his previous hit single “Miss You” reaching over 150 million streams, claiming certified Gold in Italy and Canada, and surpassing 50 million streams in the US alone. This pop singer/ songwriter released his exceptional eight-track mini-album “Innerverse” which, alongside his successful debut EP “Pages”, rapidly made him into an online sensation and gained support from the likes of Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, as well as Mistajam, Adele Roberts, Cel Spellman, and Maz Tappuni (Communion).
‘Forget (About Everything Else)’ explores James’ smooth and melodious vocals, compared to that of Khalid and Post Malone. The Homorhythmic texture heard throughout creates an even balance between vocals and instruments, captivating the listener throughout the song's entirety.
James Hersey’s single is enough to satisfy our need for his presence in the electronic pop world, but will most definitely leave us ambitious for more.
