James Hersey Shares New Single "Souvenir"
James Hersey is back for the third installment of the single releases leading up to his album, Fiction, out September 17th. “Souvenir” is fresh, fun, and inspired by his love life.
With a high level of energy, courtesy of the sunny rhythms embedded in the track, James sings about his daydreams and memories of experiences shared with his girlfriend. His previous single releases of this year “Forget (About Everyone Else)” and “Closer (ft. Chromeo)" were also inspired by his relationships. The former explored loving your partner unconditionally and the latter, as the name suggests, was an anthem for getting “Closer”. While all three have slightly different themes, they ultimately string together different parts of being in love.
"Souvenir is a lockdown escape fantasy. It came from the simple desire to see my girl carefree and happy again, inspired by never-ending nights in Berlin and our unforgettable days at the Mediterranean sea,” said James Hersey.
He slows things down by ending with an acoustic guitar outro that fully sends home the message that he is sincere about his feelings. James Hersey wears his heart on his sleeve and the result is music that’s equal parts emotional and pop hit material.
