Little Green Has Got The Blues in New Single "Mothers Daughter"
Little Green is the alter ego of Sydney based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Amy Nelson. Growing up in the Blue Mountains, Amy developed a childlike sense of storytelling and serene musicality inspired by the nature around her.
“I wrote this song in character… absorbing all the mother daughter relationships around me, I realised the generational trauma we experience as women. This story is about the complex, yet unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter, and the healing power of forgiveness,” shared Little Green.
Throughout the track Little Green’s intimate vocals, honest storytelling, and bluesy sax, are supported by an electronic-pop production bed, to convey a dark, yet healing message, a soundscape that was able to come to life with the help of Jordan Leonard.
Self-taught on flute, sax, guitar, piano and vocals, she has used her skillset to create a compelling live show, start a popular mini beat series online, and collaborate with some of Sydney's best up and coming electronic producers; her most recent releases being supported by Triple J, KIIS1065, TEDx Melbourne, MTV and more. An emerging female producer in her own right, Little Green's track ‘The Night’ received stellar reviews on Unearthed, her ‘sweet folky vocals’ and ‘mature production’ sending her to the top of the charts and earning her a premiere on Triple J.
“Mother’s Daughter” shows off just how much Little Green has grown into uniquely her own sound, with this release being just the start for what Little Green has in store for 2021.
