Jessica Tori is a Folk Siren on Debut "Skin and Bones"
We are super excited to introduce you to a brand new artist today; Jessica Tori, and her new single “Skin and Bones” have absolutely stolen our hearts this week. Jessica has just started out in a new sonic direction, taking a stab at being a folk singer-songwriter after a long career working in the electronic music space, and god is she naturally good at it.
“Skin and Bones” is ethereal and gorgeous, with a magical aspect to the melodies that draws you completely into the track; you can never quite put your finger on what is so mysterious and lovely. Jessica’s siren-esque vocals are stop-you-in-your-tracks gorgeous, and she doesn’t hesitate to take the melody to blues-y, experimental places over a soft and unassuming guitar line.
This track is a confident and fully realised debut, focusing on the journey to finding oneself during tough times. Vocally it harkens back to artists such as Amy Winehouse and Gabriella Cilmi, while sonically her style feels reminiscent of six-time Grammy Award-winner Kacey Musgraves. We are fully on board with Jess; can’t wait to see what she does next.
