Indy Stanton Releases Her Latest Pop Hit “Like Me”
South Australia's Indy Stanton is finding peace and liberation through her brand new pop bop “Like Me”. It has been two years since Indy has released her debut album “The Candle Room” which has collected quite the streaming record, but now the singer-songwriter is back and more pop influenced than ever.
Telling a tale very close to her heart, “Like Me” is a narrative of Indy’s experience after leaving a very toxic, unhealthy relationship. After being told that she was crazy, among other things and believing it, she felt it was her obligation to warn potential suitors of what dangers they were entering into.
“This single is something really new for me. I had an ex who told me I was a total psychopath; and I believed it.,” said Indy. “After we had broken up and I started dating again, I kept hearing her voice in my head telling me I was crazy and too messed up to be dating anyone. Suddenly, I had the idea that I needed to ‘warn’ anyone who was interested in me. I had to give them a total breakdown of what they would be signing up for”
Coming from a place of vulnerability and truth, this stunning reflection into Indy’s past self has been livened into a piece of art. Filled with deep piano packing, mellow electronic components and the sweet vocals of Indy, “Like Me” is hitting all of the right notes.
“I finally came to the conclusion that I wasn’t necessarily crazy, I was just reacting to areallywild situation.” told Indy.”It was kinda fun and cathartic to describe myself from my old point of view, and that’s what I’ve done with this song. It’s also a super empowering feeling to use phrases that I used and no longer believe them when I hear them.”
Turning a painful memory into something beautiful is never easy, but Indy Stanton has hit the nail on the head with “Like Me”.
