Pop Royalty Ashe Announces Her Latest Album “Ashlyn”
With a number of titles and awards to her name, I’m sure this is not the first you’re hearing of Los Angeles pop icon Ashe. Following her most recent collaborative single “Till Forever Falls Apart” featuring FINNEAS the musical partner and brother of Billie Eilish, Ashe has returned to reveal her latest 14 track album “Ashlyn” together with feature track “Me Without You”.
Ashe is taking over the world, one release at a time. With effortless sonic presence and deeply moving storytelling lyrics, Ashe is quickly making her way to the crown, officiating her reign. This most recent album “Ashlyn” is a project that sits close to Ashe’s heart.
"Ashlyn is deeply reflective and honest, full of stories of my experiences with fear and pain and turning those hard things into joy and independence,” said Ashe. “I’m an experiential writer and there was no way I was going to make an album that didn’t address my personal journey, from my brother’s death this last year to my own experiences with emotional abuse. I think you have to be vulnerable to create something really great and I believe I did that.”
“Writing this album was also an opportunity to show that I’m not just a songwriter and a singer but a producer and a musician with a very clear vision for my art. Joni Mitchell refers to herself like a bee, gathering stories like pollen and trying to make honey from it, whether or not the flavour suits people is something beyond my control. I really tried to take that approach to writing this album, making something I loved above everything else. I couldn’t be more proud of Ashlyn and I hope many people happen to love it too.”
“Me Without You” the album's feature track captures the truly unique sound of Ashe. Ashe explains, “’Me Without You’ is my follow up to ‘Moral Of The Story.’ It's saying you thought that I needed you to be who I am. There is my past relationship...I had multiple people... You know, assumed that I needed them in my life to feel confident or to be me and "Me Without You" is just this record that's like, ‘Ooh, I am so good on my own.’”
L.A. based singer/songwriter Ashe exists in a universe all her own, happily untethered to the rules of the outside world. Raised in the Bay Area, Ashe started playing the piano at age eight and writing her own songs by the age of ten. As she expanded her palette by immersing herself in the music of Brian Wilson and Carole King, songwriting quickly became something of a lifeline.
A graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Ashe has been lauded by the likes of The FADER who raved about her “effortless voice”; People called her music, “deeply emotional yet so fun,” Consequence of Sound described her songs as, “accessible yet emotional” and NME declared she’s “a formidable new force in the pop world,” among other accolades. Ashe’s touring resume includes performances at Coachella with Big Gigantic, and opening slots for The Chainsmokers, LAUV, Louis The Child, Lewis Capaldi and more.
Still only young to music, Ashe holds a number of achievements under her belt, with highlights including collaborations with Niall Horan, Finneas and Demi Lovato, collecting upwards of 870 million streams across her entire discography, on top of gaining syncs with Taco Bell, Netflix, Starbucks, MTV and more.
Dominating every task she sets out to take on, Ashe is sure to have some exciting projects on the horizon.
