BAIO Releases Dreamy Electronic Pop Album “Dead Hand Control”
BAIO continues to expand his music repertoire, releasing his third new full-length album “Dead Hand Control”. Starting off the new year right, Synth-pop master BAIO gives us an album infused with rich vocals, masterfully crafted layers and electronic tone colour.
Two of the singles BAIO released last year in 2020,”Endless Me, Endlessly” and “What Do You Say When I’m Not There?” will be featured on the album, seamlessly transitioning from one to the other, highlighting the parallel between the tracks. The duality of the power of connection is explored throughout these two tracks, challenging the contrasted struggles of not knowing how others truly feel. Both tracks are heard early on throughout this 8-track album, and are beneficial in enhancing BAIO’s sound.
Setting the tone for the album, Baio recently released two focus tracks “Dead Hand Control” and “Take It From Me”in January 2021. Title track “Dead Hand Control” holds a message of anxieties and control.
“ I was thinking a lot about how, as a musician, I have control over what a recording is, but that once I put a song out into the world, I no longer control its life,” said Baio.
All 8 songs used on the album have been thoughtfully created, embedded with the stylistic influences and talent of Chris’ DJ skills. Characterised by electronic elements, thick texture, and a strong rhythmic beat, BAIO has produced an album which pays ode to his long and successful career.
“I was looking at the past five years of American life and obsessing about topics like death, wills and nuclear war,” said BAIO, of the album's origins. “But at its heart, it’s about how the only thing you can control is the way you treat the people in your life.”
BAIO has set a high standard for himself, with us eager to see where he goes next in the upcoming year!
