Blanco White's New Single Is As Shimmery & Delicate As Its Name
Every now and then, you come across a song that is able to emote things you didn’t even know you were feeling, and suddenly you feel everything at once. Blanco White’s new single, “Papillion”, does just this.
Blanco White is the project of Londoner, Josh Edwards, who has been gaining popularity for his unique compositions, pairing his sweet vocals with his many instrumental talents. His music is a combination of Latin and Andulasion influences, resulting in something pretty unique and amazing.
His new single “Papillon” is just a sample of this man’s talents. Just as his previous singles have achieved, “Papillon” is a magical track, complete with the gentlest guitar, which is as delicate as harp pickings, and his dreamy vocals. “Papillon” creates this feeling of floating, where you’re away from everyone else and have this true moment of self reflection.
Speaking about the track, Josh explains “‘Papillon’ is a song inspired by Henri Charrière’s book of the same name.” The autobigraphic novel tells the story of Henri "Papillon" Charrière, after he is wrongly convicted for murder, and sentenced to a life of hard labour. Blanco White has done a stunning job of capturing those feelings of being lost and isolated. “It was a very important book to a friend of mine, and it left a similar impact on me. Most of the story takes place surrounded by water, so I wanted the song to have a shimmering and rippling feel to it.”
“Papillon” is a beautifully crafted track, full of meaning and wonder. It’s delicately balanced between this feeling of earthliness and being absolutely isolated from anything living. It’s quite an emotional whirlwind, but its mystical in every sense.
This magical new track comes alongside the announcement of a new album, titled “On The Other Side”. Blanco White’s previous releases and this new single have definitely got us excited for its release, and we cannot wait to hear more stunning compositions.
