JJ Wilde Reveals Her Latest EP “Wilde”
One of Canada’s most promising musical exports, JJ Wilde, sings from down deep, telling her soulful stories in a voice that embraces the legacy of Rock n Roll, and brings it into the 21st century.
Called "a voice that commands the stage .... an undeniable rock star in the making," by BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders, Kitchener-based JJ Wilde, is the breakthrough new voice of a movement of independent female artists who have characterized Rock n Roll music over the past decade. She has been recognized internationally, performing and recording with artists including The Glorious Sons, Jimmy Eat World, Incubus, The Struts, and Reignwolf.
“There is a constant theme between all these songs as I reflect on them: freedom. This past year has been testing people in many ways, and freedom is definitely one,” said Wilde. “So through these songs I have taken myself to a place where anything is possible. Where restrictions don't exist and it's all about chasing the next high. These are feel good, fun songs. There is enough darkness and sadness in the world right now, I wanted to give people an escape to turn to and reminisce on good times, or day dream of the brighter days ahead."
A recent JUNO award nomination for "Rock Album Of The Year," 12 Million global streams on her debut album release, a Top 10 track, "The Rush," on the renowned OuiFM in France, and a historic run at Canada’s three Mediabase rock radio charts, and now with the release of “Wilde” JJ shows us everything she has, ushering towards her growth as an artist.
