Dylan Cartlidge Brings The Groove With "Hang My head"
England’s resident funky artist Dylan Cartlidge has once again delivered us a unique, lively tune with his latest single “Hang My Head”.
Dylan uses a groovy bass and upbeat drums accompanied by motivational lyrics to spread his message; one of positivity and self reflection. He has taken the negative feelings that stem from the decisions we make in our lives that don’t end up working out and turned them around. Cartlidge has created a song that encourages his listeners to acknowledge their own strength and push forward no matter how hard it gets.
“This song is about when you feel like you’ve let others down, especially yourself. When for whatever reason, physically or morally you’ve taken a wrong turn or made a bad choice, but not the “I shouldn’t have parked there" kind. It's the silent one that you only think about or notice on the way home to your loved ones. It touches upon self growth and learning from your mistakes, and trying your best to get out the front door every day knowing you're doing yourself, your work & your family justice.”
His long time motto has been "Hope Above Adversity", which subsequently is the title of his upcoming album. With “Hang My Head” and previous releases, Dylan has risen above the challenges he’s faced and grown to become an artist to the full extent of the word.
2020 was a milestone year for Dylan Cartlidge, gaining recognition from NME and BBC as well as Amazon and other streaming platforms for his talent and distinct sound. He’s shown us time and time again that he’s capable of adapting to any genre while still making the track his own. Leaving us, as always, in awe.
