We Could Never be “Outta Love” for Kim Churchill
The roads of Australia can take you from the wide dusty roads, to dense wooded forests or snow capped mountains. For Australian traveller Kim Churchill, the road less travelled has brought him to a place of rumination and clarity, personified in his latest track “Outta Love”.
Capturing the sincerely vulnerable moment of actualisation, “Outta Love” offers organic acoustic twangs and raw unfeigned vocals akin to John Butler Trio and Pete Murray. This track encapsulates Churchill sitting down to have a conversation with himself, coming face to face with feelings you deny but must endure when parting a relationship. It is a song steeped in sadness, like its meaning the tone of “Outta Love” is gentle, unguarded and tender.
“I was terrified to write this song actually. It was so hard to admit these truths to myself. I Think ‘Outta Love’ really helped me in admitting certain truths to myself. They were hard to hear but eventually helped lead me back to myself. For this reason I owe it everything.” reflects Kim.
“Outta Love” is another sneak peak of Churchill’s forthcoming EP “The End”, which was already on our radar following the first single release of “Nothing Nothing”. While part time virtuoso, part time wanderer Kim Churchill continues to explore the plains of Australia, we’ll be jumping along for the ride to see where this journey takes him next.
