Mighty Oaks Ask Us To "Forget Tomorrow" In Their Brilliant New Track
Touring musicians know the story all too well; packed bags and long goodbyes, exchanging the comforts of home for a rumbling tour bus or solitary hotel room, often for months at a time. This is the reality for Mighty Oaks, and since all three band members of the Berlin-based indie-folk outfit have become fathers they find it especially tough to leave home.
Thankfully amongst the chaos of touring, the band have blessed our ears and graced our souls once again with their new single “Forget Tomorrow”. Written by lead singer Ian Hooper, the track focuses on living in the moment and enjoying each other’s company, instead of fretting about the inevitable as the inevitable can be indisputably wonderful.
“Playing live is definitely something we thrive on as a band. The energy of a live show, the immediate feedback from the crowd...those things made us the band that we are today, and are the reason why we play music,” says singer Hooper. “But leaving the family isn’t easy for anyone, especially when you mix in different time zones and crazy schedules. I met my wife right before the band found success. Ever since she’s known me, she’s known me as a touring musician. No matter how many times I’ve left to go on tour, it’s always like the first time for her, and it never gets easier for her to watch me walk out the door.”
Ian Hooper (US), Claudio Donzelli (Italy), and Craig Saunders (UK) have crafted masterpiece upon masterpiece since the formation of Mighty Oaks almost 10 years ago. Having recently joined The Lumineers on their tour across Europe, the group continues to grow at every point surprising their existing fanbase and entice new ones to their shows each year.
