Want a Masterclass in Pop Writing? Look No Further than MAX's "Colour Vision"
Looking for a world-class 10/10 pop album? Look no further than MAX’s latest release Colour Vision. Following up his smash hit singles “Lights Down Low”, “Love Me Less” ft. Quinn XCII and “Working For The Weekend (feat. bbno$)”, the album is a formidable career moment from the artist named a “Young Pop God” by GQ, named a “top popstar to watch” by Billboard, and nominated for “Best New Pop Artist” at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
From the first track, Colour Vision is obviously made to be performed in a packed stadium. MAX sends his vocals to the absolute moon on the opening number “Colour Vision”, and the incredible melodies never stop. Most recent single “Working for the Weekend” is another favourite - it’s a groovy, bass and funk-driven banger, with super original percussive elements in the chorus that really take it to the next level.
There are some incredible features on this album too, like Quinn XCII on quirky track “Love Me Less”, and the gorgeous Hayley Kiyoko on the soft pop ballad “Missed Calls”. One of the highlights is the focus single “Blueberry Eyes”, featuring none other than Suga of Grammy-award winning K-pop band BTS.
One of our absolute favourite tracks on the album is the building ballad “Where Am I At?” which will hit you straight in the heard with its painfully honest lyricism. MAX’s vocals on this track are also a huge standout, immediately placing him in the big leagues of male falsetto legends.
MAX’s new music continues to dive deeper into the idea of being true to who you are; whether that be by wearing what you want to wear, loving who you want to love, or just feeling accepted. And we are fully on board.
