Kirklandd Makes Waves With His Debut EP “The Love Divide”
For long Kirklandd has been making notable appearances through the Australian live music scene, performing at Spilt Milk, Groovin the Moo and NYE on the Hill, he has reached goals most artists can only dream of, even without an EP. Given Canberra local Kirklandd is already a crowd favourite, the trajectory shows he is about to make waves with his debut EP “The Love Divide” alongside latest single “Too Late”.
“The Love Divide” is a series of songs that Kirklandd says came naturally to him, each song encompasses the feeling, the being, the moments of his own personal experiences with his relationship. It compresses the blissfulness of sweet nothings and the aches of every disagreement or hurtful action. Complete with intro and outro, the seven track journey uses divisive language and stylistic hip hop to perfectly capture time in the essence of music.
“The Love Divide” is a conceptual embodiment of me navigating this relationship” apprises Kirklandd.
In aid of the EP Kirklandd formed a team with producer and friend Cam Bluff (producer for Illy, Hilltop Hoods, Allday), hip hop artist Citizen Kay and mixer/engineer Xiro (worked with Kwame) to refine and advance “The Love Divide”. Using expertise and experience from each member's domain, it is clear Kirklandd’s team of movers and shakers have collectively developed a project truly great.
Honing in on the single “Too Late” which appears on the EP, a track that brings the energy. This song is a place where pop meets hip hop and we can't get enough of it.
“Too Late'' captures everything I want my music to embody; live instrumentation, eclectic production, a clear feeling and flows that are reminiscent of the golden age era of hip hop.” Said Kirklandd on the song.
With Kirklandd’s exciting entrance into the music scene, this EP and single release is bound to open many more doors for the hip hop pioneer.
