Dear Seattle have graced triple j’s Like A Version today, performing their latest single “I Keep Dreaming”, as well as an electrifying and fast-paced cover of Missy Higgins’ classic hit, “The Special Two”. The band’s signature raucous and driving Aussie rock sound, combined with the emotional connection to the music and lyrics they create, made the distinctively Australian Missy Higgins track a perfect choice of cover that they could make their own.

As well as this energetic cover, the band also regaled triple j listeners with a stunning and emotive live performance of their latest single “I Keep Dreaming”, taken from their album ‘Don’t Let Go’.

The track and the poignant meaning behind it is best described by lead singer and writer, Brae Fisher, himself.

“My Dad, who I lost at age 6, was the one who got me into music in the first place… The whole premise of the song is that amongst everything going on in my life, all I wish is that I could have him here with me to see it all unfold because I know he would love every second of it… So this song is just an ode to him, thanking him for being with me through everything, whilst simultaneously missing him like hell and just wishing I could be with him again.”

This performance comes at the end of Dear Seattle’s huge national ‘Don’t Let Go’ album tour, which saw the band sell out venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, as well as playing to packed crowds in Perth and Hobart. It also precludes their debut appearance at Byron Bay’s Splendour in the Grass in July this year.

The band have also released a brand new music video for “I Keep Dreaming” highlighting their joy and good times together as a band throughout their national tour.

Dear Seattle gained momentum with the release of their self-titled EP in 2017, with the band embracing a grunge-tinged brand of rock’n’roll that saw singles such as “The Meadows” and “Afterthought” receive handsome triple j airplay.

That same year they signed with Domestic La La, a new record label spearheaded by Violent Soho guitarist James Tidswell. This success saw the band tour with the likes of Tired LionBalance And ComposureKingswoodHockey Dad and Trophy Eyes, not to mention festival slots on Groovin The MooUnifyFestival Of The SunParty In The Paddock and Brisbane’s annual music industry showcase, Bigsound

Dear Seattle have also released a new limited edition, multi-coloured vinyl variant of their latest album “Don’t Let Go” available for purchase here.
