Dear Seattle Have Launched Their Own Beer (Is Anyone Surprised?)
Australians love getting on the beers. A weekend just wouldn’t be complete without a coupla Denzel Frothingtons… Reece Witherschoons… Madeline McCanns… Brew Barrymores… You get the picture.
And while there are plenty of bands in Australia who love to get on the beers, in our opinion, Dear Seattle are the best. Nothing makes us want to crowd surf with a fresh frothy in hand quite as much as the iconic sing-along chorus of their hit “Daytime TV”…
And we’re not alone! Dear Seattle’s live shows are famously huge, rowdy, wholesome sing-alongs, as thousands of punters witnessed on their debut album tour. Check out their new, electrifying music video for “A Modest Mind, shot throughout this tour, for the full experience.
So, no one is surprised to hear that Sydney’s favourite anthemic punk-rock band Dear Seattle have launched their very own beer, with the aid of their local Marrickville brewers Philter, in preparation for their appearance at Beer Incider in September.
Beer Seattle will be exclusively available at Beer InCider, which is taking place on the 20th and 21st September, at Brisbane Showgrounds. Festival details & tix at beerincider.com.
Dear Seattle continue to make their place in the Australian rock scene, following the success of their album and its accompanying national tour, which saw the band sell out venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, as well as playing to packed crowds in Perth and Hobart. They also made a phenomenal debut appearance at Byron Bay’s Splendour in the Grass in July.
The Music highlighted Dear Seattle’s Splendour set as a highlight of the festival, saying, “Dear Seattle hit the amphitheatre right in the feels, the faithful crowd getting around Daytime TV’s gang vocals and The Meadows cathartic (lyrics)... Arms locked around mates…we collectively swayed to a Missy Higgins-approved cover of The Special Two. There was nothing but love and gratitude coming from frontman Brae Fisher as we raised a beer to the sky to toast his old man.”
Dear Seattle originally gained momentum with the release of their self-titled EP in 2017, with the band embracing a grunge-tinged brand of rock’n’roll that saw singles such as “The Meadows” and “Afterthought” receive handsome triple j airplay.
That same year they signed with Domestic La La, a new record label spearheaded by Violent Soho guitarist James Tidswell. This success saw the band tour with the likes of Tired Lion, Balance And Composure, Kingswood, Hockey Dad and Trophy Eyes, not to mention festival slots on Groovin The Moo, Unify, Festival Of The Sun, Party In The Paddock and Brisbane’s annual music industry showcase, Bigsound.
